Dabs.com - Why to avoid ordering hard disks from this company
Dabs.com - many complaints from customers regarding packaging of their hard drives. Here's how they treated my £502.42 order of WD Reds - left to rattle around in a box !
Also turns out Dabs.com describe these WD Red drives on their website as having a 3 YEAR WARRANTY in their item desciption, but when I checked the serial numbers of the hard disks online via WD Product Registeration it turns out they are in fact OEM drives which are "out of region" so there IS IN FACT NO THREE YEAR MANUFACTURER WARRANTY AT ALL. ITEMS ARE THEREFORE NOT AS DESCRIBED !

The old AA advert, when they could actually fix a car by the roadside
Any ideas what the music is on the British telecom ads please? xx
These students going up against their master don't end very well, especially for the student.
Commodore 64.. its enormous 64k memory 😂😂😂
That was highly enjoyable thanks for taking the time to put it together. I was born 1984 so I could recall a few
Amiga > All
The days when adverts were entertaining and way better than the tosh that is on tv these days…
16:14 Hi-Di-Hi campers! Superb ad 👍
They're missing the point. When you bought a computer back then, you were buying into an ecosystem. Stuff wasn't compatible, and there was no e-commerce. This was the day of mail order taking 6 to 8 weeks to arrive, so mail order catalogues weren't the answer. You were limited basically to what was locally available at the local computer store. And IBM PC and compats had a TON of software AND support (peripherals like printers, etc). Second place was the Mac, which always had about 1/4th of the software (but it was good). This is what I remember from the main Micro-center in Lane Avenue Mall. I don't think I EVER even saw an Amiga or Atari in there, so lord knows WHERE you'd even get them. And software? Forget about it! And THIS is where these companies scrimped and cut corners -- their dealer network and software available for the machines. I guess there was always warez sites but only a few people knew about that and there were only a few sites. Also about the graphics on these machines. They always brag about "color" which the mac didn't have at the time. Well yeah, look at how low res those displays are, and how clunky and toylike it makes the OS and menus -- that's because the resolution at 16 bit color was only 320 × 200 on that Atari! The Mac might not have had color, but it DID have 512x342! So almost 3x the resolution!!! Which makes it much useable for a ton of applications that don't need color! So the Atari and Amiga strength was games -- but then let's not forget the NES also came out this year (for most places). So for $150 or whatever you could get a machine to play games on. So what did the Amiga/Atari cost? $2000? If you went with a Nintendo instead, that would leave $1850 in your budget to buy lots of games!!! THIS is why these machines failed. Focused on games at a time when Nintendo and other consoles were coming out, no dealer network for sales/software/support, and a lack of available software.
$699 USD for 1987 Amiga 500.
NES release timeline JP: July 15, 1983 (Famicom) NA: October 18, 1985 EU: September 1, 1986 EU/AU/IND: 1987 SK: 1989 BRA/ZA: 1993
@@valenrn8657 That's for the machine only, not counting monitor which adds a lot to the price. Like $300 or $400
I hope we see a new cartoon laser disc game
LIked and subbed.
Never forget never forgive, what they have taken from us.
I'm looking for an old advert on british tv, it had a car dealer/mechanic saying "ye I've ripped people off, if they don't know what goes under a car bonnet that's their problem". Been searching for past 10 years
I remember all of these. I hated the Jewson avert, it used to drive me insane.
Oh heaven. Dictation you could cut glass with, clever writing and laugh out loud moments. Rare occurrences with TV generally now!
Enormous 64k memory lol
Aldi muesli is way better than Alpen. I like Noel Edmonds flogging truly terrible cars 😄
"$40 spent before I killed the dragon." So, adjusted for inflation, same cost as a AAA game today.
Forgot about the national anthem being played when TV used to stop broadcasting just after midnight.
In what country were these adverts broadcast???
Its weird watching these ads with 99% whites
Old but Gold! Thank You!
Wow.... No woke, no weird people telling us their normal. No adverts filmed in Africa.... Or teliing uk folk their bad. Or advertising where its been banned because it has alcohol or suger in..... 2023 is crap.
Try learning English first before moving on to xenophobia.
@@TheBroz LOL...... True though. You call me an IST or have an IA. A Government forced thing of changes over the years. You probably are in a advert for ED... Or lived on a phone all your life with thought police and know no difference. Phone zombie. Now do one . I see changes and a realist......😁👍... Enjoy today's advertising about depression and charity. Life walking in a town lost to our own people too. Reality forced. Zzzzzzzz😳 sleep.
Thanks for the post 📫 my friend.😊❤
Judging by the Action Force ad - I’d say that a lot of these are from 1982-83
Currently building my own cabinet.
1:33 is it a play on being mirrored?
Many that would not be allowed now due to health and safety, when you need a hi vis jacket and hard hat to paper my grannys front room you know that the UK has lost it completely.
The face rub is LARVA?!
Makes you wonder how they ever sold anything without minority groups, mixed marriages, wokism or transgender representation in the adverts....😊
😂some advertising I have not a clue what they are advertising.......it ain't a product. 2023 TV is crap and woke . They do not represent anything of UK anymore. Many now have gangsta background music with hoodie.....or they are important to everything........😂.....
Xaja duiqil. ajax liquid 😂
I loved the tart who did the shake and vac add
Uncomplicated lives then, loved that time !
It just goes to prove how much the TV was on in the house. People used to talk about adverts or be singing or whistling a tune from one. Now no one talks about adverts or TV shows for that matter. I find it rather sad.
Erm ...the John Lewis festive ad's?!
My personal faves are "Bodyform" and "Salon Selectives". Don't know if they're on here yet as I've only listened on my way home from work. Twice now. Hope they are.
Where are all the black people?
Rivita - it could bring out a whole new poo.
Nice to see Adds with real people in unlike the ones from now.
I love how coffee ads featured cafetieres and percolators to advertise their instant muck.
Nice and white
wow this old ,lenny henry being funny
As someone who regularly had tropical fruit savoury rice... It was fucking vile...
You'll never see that many white faces in adverts these days.
Adverts that look like they were made in Britain not Africa!
that rice didn't have double the veggies
The AA add the AA man reminds me of Michael Crawford in "some mothers do have them" with the beret on 🤣😂🤣😂
Metro and aerodynamic 😂😂😂😂
The United Kingdom really is the best Country.
1:26:07 Yet in 2023 it is virtually impossible to buy any soft drink that does not contain artificial sweetener. SMH.
I owned both. I had a 1040ST and several Amigas (500, 2000, and 3000). The Atari had some really cool features about it but the Amiga was clearly better.
